Star Light - Star Bright!
"...the Angel said to them ...
I bring you good news of great joy.
It is for all the people.
Today in the town of David
a Savior has been born to you.
He is Christ the Lord."
Luke 2:10,11
John 1:1, says, "In the beginning, the Word was already there. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning."
This verse of the Bible is talking about Jesus! Jesus was God, who was in heaven and who loved us so much that He came to show us His Love. He came to save us from the sin that had been brought into the world by Satan, because Adam and Eve did not obey God in the Garden of Eden.
God came to us as a baby lying in a manger. The Angel of the Lord told the wise men and the shepherds that the Bright Star would lead them to the baby. If they followed the Star they would find The Light of the world. Baby Jesus was born to bring God's people out of darkness into His wonderful Light.
We hope you have a Merry Christmas.
May God's Love, Peace and Joy be with you now and always!

Joy to the World
"...the Angel said to them ...I bring you good news of great joy.
It is for all the people. Today in the town of David
a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord."
Luke 2:10,11
God sent the angel to announce the coming of the Christ Child. God's love for us is the greatest gift ever given. His only Son, Jesus took the punishment for all our sins. God's gift is free, but it must be received. This is the "good news of great joy," the angel told about.
Father God, I thank you for sending Your Son to the earth to be our Savior. I love You, Jesus.
Amen.

Prayer on All Saints
Heavenly Father,
You have given the Saints in Heaven eternal happiness and they now live in the fullness of Your glory. Because of their holy love for You, they also care about me and my family, my friends, my church, and my neighbors. Thank You for the gift of their friendship and the witness of their holy lives. I ask our Patron Saints and every saint to intercede for us. I ask them to help us journey safely on the narrow path that leads to Heaven. O Lord, give us their protection. Grant us their help in overcoming temptation and gaining the fullness of life with You.
Amen.

Learning to use your Bible
A bible verse citation tells us how to find a particular reading in the bible. There are three steps to finding the passage we want to read.
1John 4: 8
Step one
We must first find the book of the Bible that the scripture verse is in. The book is highlighted in red. Using this example, 1John4:8, we want to find the First book of John. This is one of the books of the New Testament.
Step two
We then turn to the chapter in the book. This is the first number after the book, it is highlighted in green. So in our example, 1John4:8, we are looking for chapter 4.
Step three
Let’s find the verse. The verse is the second number after the book and is separated by a colon (:). In our example 1John4:8, we are looking for the eighth verse.
So what does it say? God is love!
So now we know how to find passages in the bible. Remember to read your bible everyday, these are the words of God!
Here are a few passages that have very important messages for us:
Acts 16: 31
Ephesians 6: 1
Exodus 20: 8
Exodus 20: 12
Isaiah 43: 5
John 15: 5
Matthew 5: 14
Matthew 6: 33
Psalm 3: 5
Psalm 27: 14
Psalm 34: 9
Psalm 34: 14
Psalm 118 :1
Psalm 127: 3

Make Me More Like You
Monday, September 25, 2006
Who is your pilot?
Who is charge of everything? Who is the pilot of our lives? The boss? Jesus !! He is our Lord. He is God!
God’s will must be more important than our will. God tells us in His Word we should make others more important than ourselves. Giving others first place and putting ourselves in the 'back seat' will show that we love others with God's great love!
Lord Jesus,
Sometimes I put myself first. I think only of myself. Please forgive me. Help me to remember what you say about making others more important. I know when I do, You will take care of me.
Amen

How would you feel?
" Do to others the same way you want them to do to you."
Luke 6:31
Before we mistreat a friend or do something that could hurt any one in any way, we must, Think First. How would I feel if someone did that to me? Would I want them to hurt me or say something bad to me? Would I want them to do that to me?
The answer would be, No!
We want others to treat us with love and care about our feelings. Always ask yourself, would Jesus be happy if I treated Billy this way or said that to Jane? Remember, Do What Jesus Would Do!
Almighty God,
Guide my words and deeds. Let Your Spirit remind me to always be good to others and treat them with Your loving kindness.
Amen

Committed To God
"So then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good."
1 Peter 4:19
Sometimes it is hard to be and do good.. We can do good in hard times! God wants to encourage us to keep our eyes on Him. He does not want us to give up or stop doing His good work. Remember, God is faithful! He will always help us to do good. When things look the hardest for us, God shows us He will be our helper. He says when we are weak, He will give us His strength. We must continue to do good and rely on God to help us.
Heavenly Father,
You know everything about me. You know when I am discouraged and when it is hard for me to do good! I pray that you will remind me, You are always with me. I can rely on You to help me do good!
Amen

Put Your Words Into Action
"Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
Luke 6:31
Sometimes we say lovely words about how much we love God. We talk about loving other people. We promise to love even those who do not love us. It is what is inside of our heart that really counts. It is the action of loving God, the action of loving others, and the action of loving our enemies that really counts. We can only love in great ways when we have Jesus living in our hearts. The Holy Spirit helps us to love the way God loves. Remember to pray for God to help you love the way He loves.
Heavenly Father,
Your love for me was so strong that You sent Your only Son, Jesus to die on the cross so I can live with you forever. I did not deserve that kind of love. Help me to forgive others. Help me to have love for others, no matter what!
Amen

A Friend in Need
"I tell you, use the riches of this world to help others.
In that way, you will make friends for yourselves..."
Luke 16:9
We all want to have good friends. But do you know that we must first be a good friend. When we use what we have to be helpful and kind to others they will remember our kindness. There are many ways we can use the riches of the world to help others. Sometimes people just need someone to take the time to be their friend. God will show us when someone is in need of a good friend. He will also show us how to help them. We need to watch for the chances God gives us to do good for others. We will have many friends when we become a good friend.
Father God,
Guide me in what I should do to help others. Thank You for my friends. Help me understand how to be a good friend. I want to see others with the eyes and ears of my heart and not judge others.
Amen

Lord, Make Me A Blessing
"Command the rich to do what is good. Tell them to be rich in doing good things. They must give freely. They must be willing to share."
1 Timothy 6:18
God has blessed us so much. He gave us loving parents to take care of us and love us. He gave us friends to love us and treat us kindly. Every morning he makes the sun rise just for us and at night He makes the moon shine and the stars twinkle just to show us that He loves us. God wants us to share those blessings with others. He does not want us to fear loosing what we have. He is the blessing giver and wants us to trust Him for our needs. When we see others in need, we are to follow the example of Jesus and help them. We should tell them we are doing good because of the love God has placed in our hearts. When people know their help has come from God, they are truly blessed!
Lord,
You are the blessing giver. Thank You for caring for me. Help me to share my blessings with others. Help me have a heart that wants to share. Make me a blessing to others in the Name of Jesus!
Amen

Don't Compare Yourselves With Others
"Each of you should put your own actions to the test. Then you can take pride in yourself. You won't be comparing yourself to somebody else. Each of you should carry your own load."
Galatians 6:4
We like to look around us and see what others are doing. Do they do everything right? When they do not, does it give us the excuse to behave badly too? I don't think so! We must be responsible for our own actions. We make our own choices. We should not compare what we do with what others have done. God is looking for a heart that is looking to Him for all the answers. The good we have in us is there because of what Jesus did on the cross. We must always give Him credit for all of the good that we do. He is the One giving us the ideas and He helping us in every way to do His good will.
Lord Jesus,
I love it when You help me think of good actions and ways to help others. Thank You for those who help me and do good things for me. Thank You for helping me to do what is right and good.
Amen

A Motion Prayer
We fold our hands that they may be
From all our play and work set free.
We bow our heads as we draw near
To the King of kings, our Father dear.
We close our eyes, that we may see
Nothing to take our thoughts from Thee
Into our hearts we pray You come,
And may they become Your home.
Cast out my every sin, and set me free
Pure, like the Christ-child, may we be.
This is the prayer we bring to Thee
Then raise our eyes Your works to see
Lift up our hearts to praise Thee still,
Open our hands to do Thy will.
Amen

PRAYER TO START THE DAY
Dear God, I'm just a little child.
Take care of me today, guide my footsteps,
calm my fears, and guard me while I play.
Help me with my lessons and teach me to obey,
make me kind and honest, and let me be yours today.
God bless my mom and daddy and my brothers too
and may we all meet you in heaven
when the trials of life are through.
Amen.

Thankyou God
The sun so bright up in the sky.
The moon I see way, way up high!
The soft green grass, the plants, the trees
are special gifts
God made for me.
All the people that I love
are blessed by Jesus up above.
My neighbors, friends and family
are special gifts God gave to me.
What gift can I give you my God
in heaven up above?
The thing you want the most from me
is pure and simple...
Love!

A Child's Hymn
God, make my life, a little light,
Within the world to glow
A little flame that burns bright
Wherever I may go.
God, make my life a little flower,
That gives joy to all
Content to bloom
Although its place be small.
God, make-my life a little song,
That comforts the sad
That helps others to be strong,
And makes the, singer glad.
God, make my life a little hymn
Of tenderness and praise
Of faith that never goes dim
In all Your wondrous ways.
Amen

A Child's Prayer
At night I kneel by mother’s knee
To thank you God for your care
Thank you for all the gifts
That made the day so fair.
I thank You for the nighttime
For the stars and moonlight too
For my parents
And friends so kind and true.
Now I pray my soul You to keep
For sleep all through the night
Watch over me
Till morning brings its light.
Amen

Prayer-Going To School
Dear Lord Jesus take my hand,
I'm going to a foreign land.
One not ruled by king or preacher,
but someone with the name of teacher.
My mommy says that I'll have fun;
I'll sing and skip and play and run.
But I am scared 'cause I don't know
just what to do or where to go.
So please Lord Jesus hug me tight
and keep me in your loving sight.
For with you by my side today,
I know that I will be okay.
Amen.

I Go To Sleep
Dear Child Jesus,
Dear Child as small as I!
In my own way
I want to say
A little, sweet good-bye.
Dear Child Jesus,
The day with Thee
Is through for me.
I pray Thee keep
Me safe in sleep,
And that I dream of Thee.
Dear Child Jesus,
How sweet the dream would be!
If in the night
The lovely sight
Of Thee appeared to me.

Morning Prayer
You are ushering in another day,
untouched and freshly new
So here I come to ask You, God,
if You'll renew me, too,
Forgive the many errors that I made yesterday
And let me try again, dear God,
to walk closer in thy way...
But, Father, I am well aware
I can't make it on my own
So take my hand and hold it tight
For I can't walk alone!
untouched and freshly new
So here I come to ask You, God,
if You'll renew me, too,
Forgive the many errors that I made yesterday
And let me try again, dear God,
to walk closer in thy way...
But, Father, I am well aware
I can't make it on my own
So take my hand and hold it tight
For I can't walk alone!
