Prayer for the Sick
Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. In their suffering may these special people find lasting peace and comfort in you.

We Come to You in Prayer
Dear Lord, we come to you in prayer, Knowing You are always there.
Joyfully, your songs we sing, Praising You in everything.
Keep us safe by night and day, As we travel on our way.
Teach us that its when we share, Others learn about your care.
Smile on us each time we give, For that's how you would have us live.
Remind us friends should have our love, For they are gifts from heaven above.
When we have special chores to do, May we bring glory just to you.
This is your world that we love so, We thank you, Lord, for things that grow.
With hearts as full as they can be, We thank you for our family.
Amen

Your Hand In Prayer
1. Your thumb is nearest to you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is a "sweet duty."
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, the Pope, priests and religious. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the presidents, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need our prayers day and night. We cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger, the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Prayer of St. Patrick
Christ shield me this day:
Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every person who thinks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in the ear that hears me.
Amen

To Follow Mary
Dear God
I am only little but when I look at our Blessed Mother I wish I too could be as holy as she is.
You filled our Blessed Mother with Grace, help me Lord to be just like Mary and to live my life to please You and do Your Will.
Fill me too Lord with Your Grace so that I may be holy and to love you as our Blessed Mother does.
Amen.

Morning Prayer
I prayed to God this morning
That He might send me hope,
And then He sent His mighty Word
To give me strength to cope...
I prayed to God this morning
That He might send me joy,
And all around I heard the laughter
Of every girl and boy...
I prayed to God this morning
That He might send me love,
And suddenly I felt the warmth
Of sunshine from above....
I prayed to God this morning
That He might send me peace,
And in the clamor of the day,
I felt a great release!
