The Guiding Light

"...The star they (the wise men) had seen
when they were in the east went ahead of them.
It finally stopped over the place where the child was.
When they saw the star, they were filled with joy."

Matthew 2:9,10

A light shows us what is in the darkness. We can use a light to point others in the right direction. A guiding light shines before us to light our way.

God used a star to guide the wise men to the baby Jesus. When they found Him, their hearts were filled with joy. God uses His Word and the Holy Spirit as the guiding light to show us the way to Jesus.

Heavenly Father,
Just like the wise men needed a light to find the baby Jesus, I need Your light to guide me. Reading Your Word and listening to Your Holy Spirit speak to my heart will light my way. Thank You for sending Jesus to give me joy!

Amen

Star Light - Star Bright!

"...the Angel said to them ...
I bring you good news of great joy.
It is for all the people.
Today in the town of David
a Savior has been born to you.
He is Christ the Lord."
Luke 2:10,11

John 1:1, says, "In the beginning, the Word was already there. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning."

This verse of the Bible is talking about Jesus! Jesus was God, who was in heaven and who loved us so much that He came to show us His Love. He came to save us from the sin that had been brought into the world by Satan, because Adam and Eve did not obey God in the Garden of Eden.

God came to us as a baby lying in a manger. The Angel of the Lord told the wise men and the shepherds that the Bright Star would lead them to the baby. If they followed the Star they would find The Light of the world. Baby Jesus was born to bring God's people out of darkness into His wonderful Light.

We hope you have a Merry Christmas.
May God's Love, Peace and Joy be with you now and always!
